Keyboard Prelude- uses phasing techniques as a means to produce simultaneously evolving melody, harmony, rhythm, and phrase structure. This work evolved from a section of Music for Eleven Stereos into a standalone prelude for the piece. (John McDonald- piano)

Music for Eleven Stereos [excerpt]- calls for eleven parts to be recorded on the marimba and piano, then burned to eleven unmarked blank disks, and finally played together on eleven stereos in a dark room. The performer changes the volume of the stereos throughout the performance. This piece is meant to be experienced on both macroscopic and microscopic levels- simultaneously in-and-of-focus. The listener is encouraged to toggle focus between an individual part, an interacting combination of two or more parts, and the collective sound. (Alex Chechile- stereos, Bill Zuck- marimba, John McDonald- piano)
